They claim it stiffens the front end and allows less flex when darting into turns off jumps and well it seems to be true. Not only does it look good but is functional .

When I purchased the ET & NT48s I thought it was odd they didn't have an aluminum top plate. This is exactly what the doctor ordered. I am pleased with the fit and finish of their product.
