X-Factory UK team driver Darren Newton wins at the BRCA 2012 F1 national round 1 with Exotek and Vampire Racing...

Round 1 of the BRCA F1 2012 nationals took place this past weekend at the Ardent Raceway. In the F1 Modern class (rubber) Darren qualified 2nd on the grid with his Exotek F1R chassis fitted with the axle widening kit by RSector and powered by the Vampire Racing Type AB Plus Bloodline 21.5 motor and 4400mah 50C short LIPO battery and managed to take the A final win overall by 7 seconds...

In the F1 retro class (foam) Darren ran the F1 Ultra chassis from Exotek. He managed to qualify 3rd overall for the A and after getting up to second in the final he had an issue which forced him to retire sadly. None the less two great results with 2 A finals for Darren, Exotek, Vampire Racing and RSector as we move on to round 2 next month......”

"Background info for the BRCA F1 Championship:

We run two classes here in the UK, F1 Modern on rubber tyres 190mm wide and F1 Retro on foam 210mm Wide, Both classes run boosted 21.5 or G2 Silver Can, Both classes have a minimum weight limit @ 1050g and we run for 6 minutes. We don’t do anything cool like have pit stops etc, we just straight out race for the 6mins."

Well done Darren!
