  1. Great product prefect for Stock racing. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 28th Mar 2017

Purchased this along with the Flight Spur gear and the Flight top shaft. I'll say it's a great combo! There is one complaint I have that I was a little disappointed with. When I attached the spur gear to the Direct mount and tightened up with the provided screws and they we're actually to long. I spun the spur gear around a couple of time to make sure everything was free spinning. While doing so the screws stuck to far out the back of the spur mount and scratched my motor plate. My fix was adding a .5 shim to each of the three screws and then re installing them. So far so good. Great product none the less! Just change the screw size! Simple fix.

    Hello and Thanks!
We wonder if you are using some kind of motor plate that is spaced closer to the spur gear or thicker than stock? We could not replicate the scratching problem using the stock or Exotek motor plates.
    Best,
    Exotek
